MINYELU’S PENALTY LEADS MEKELAKEYA TO THE FINAL

Ethiopia Bunna should long for one more year to play a continental competition. The winner of the Ethiopian Cup qualifies by default to the African Confederations cup. Ethiopia Bunna has not been represented in continental competitions since 2004.
Helped by Minyilu Wondimu’s goal from the penalty on the 48th minute, Mekelakeya won Ethiopia Bunna yesterday in a semi-final match played at the Hawassa Stadium.
Ethiopia Bunna who kicked out Woldiya and Arba Minch surrendered finally to the national defense and got itself out of the Ethiopian Cup. In another semi-final match the Champions Jimma Aba Jiffar failed to show up to battle the title contenders St. George at the Hawassa Stadium. And following their absence St. George qualified for the final by default.
The final will be played Saturday at the Hawassa stadium between Mekelakeya and Kidus Giorgis and the winner will represent the country in the African Confederation’s cup.
