The week nine matches of Ethiopian Premier League have been played on Friday and Sunday in Addis Ababa and all the regions. The only match played on Friday at the Tigray Stadium, Mekele 70 Enderta beat Sebeta at home and solidified their lead at the top of the Premier League standings. The defending champions distanced the gap to four points clear from Fasil Kenema who lost to Shire away (2-0). Shire, who were at the relegation zone three weeks ago astonished Fasil Kenema thanks to the goals from Abdulatif Mohammed and Salifou Fofana.
Hawassa Ketema smashed Welkitie at home in the Hawassa artificial stadium. Hawassa hosted the newly promoted side on Sunday and conquered (3-1).
In the Addis Ababa National Stadium, Bunna has regained its form after two loses in a raw by beating Sidama Bunna (2-1). Endale Debalkie has converted the penalty in the first half committed on Habtamu who also scored the winning goal in the second half. Dawit Teferra scored a leveler for Sidama converting a mistake committed at the Defending zone before Habtamu sealed a header to Bunna at the 59 minute.
BahirDar ketema beat Welwalo 3-2 at the BahirDar National Stadium. Thanks to FikreMichael Alemu, Girma Dissassa and own goal from Welwalo defence Samuel help Bahirdar to retain the 6th place.
