Ethiopian Sport Journalists Association (ESJA) held its Annual General Assembly yesterday Thursday 30 August, 2018 at the Friendship International Hotel.
The general assembly convened on different issues and endorsed key documents including the annual report of the just ended year (2010 E.C.) and the plan of action for the coming year (2011).
The general assembly also discussed on other relevant issues related to marketing, budget and other implementation issues among others.
On his report, chairperson of the association Yonas Teshome said that the new executive committee was able to be elected to vice chair the African Sport Press Association. Yonas also noted that the committee was also able to make three trainings happen in the just concluded fiscal year.
At the occasion, the association bestowed a life time award to a veteran sport journalist, Fekrou Kidané.
Fekrou Kidane in a video he sent to the association expressed his gratitude to the association for the award and advised young journalists not to compromise on self respect and standards of integrity.
The Ethiopian Sport Journalist Association is an affiliate of Association International de la presse Sportive (AIPS) and has more than 200 active members throughout the country.
