Bunna convincingly won Hawassa
Sebeta Registered their first win
Kidus Giorgis fair to share points to Shire at home
Fasil Ketema scored three goals against the new comers 3-0
Many doubted whether Kassaye’s strategy would realize on the field. In a match played on Sunday afternoon at the National Stadium, Bunna demolished Hawassa City 4-1. Supporters of bunna came to the Stadium with the usual feeling down like “what new?” However, the team that had been attacking from the very first minute completely dominated the home match. Kassaye’s team has always been progressing but had a problem in converting the goal scoring opportunities they create. Yet, this week the team has scored four goals among which three are scored by their head striker Endale. The supporters are content now because their head striker began to score. Endale now is on the top of the scorers’ list with four goals in four matches.
Like Bunna, Bahir Dar has also trashed the Easterners at the Bahir Dar Stadium 4-1. The Lakers were rewarded for their first half dominance when Fitsum (4’) opened the scoring following the poor defending from the Easterners. Dire Dawa hit back almost right away however, leveling before the break through Richmond Odong (22’). Just one minute after the equalizer, thanks to Mamadou Sidibe’s goal (23’) Bahir Dar retook the lead before the second half. The hosts added two goals by Mamadou Sidibe and Fitsum at the second half to lock the second home victory that rewards the club a top three.
The biggest shock of the weekend came at the Tigray National Stadium as Welwalo shared points with Jimma. The goal less match denied Welwalo the 100% win record. Yohannes Sahile’s team has attained the uninterrupted win over the past three weeks.

The match played on Saturday between Kidus Giorgis and Shire Keteme at the Addis Ababa Stadium has ended goal less. Kidus Giorgis once again proved the goal scoring problem in the absence of their veteran striker Salhadin Seid. Kidus Giorgis have regained Getaneh whom they have longed for several months due to injury. However, Getaneh was not kind enough to repay for his absence.
Sebeta’s head coach Woubetu Abate says his side “need to improve” in conversion after the unconvincing team recorded their first win of the season under the last year’s runner up with victory over Weliktie Ketema at the Hosaena’s Stadium. Aschalew Girma scored the winning goal at the 8th minute.
The defending Champions Mekele Ketema have secured three points beating Sidama Bunna at home (1-2). Amanuel Gebre Michael and Yared Kebede have netted in the first half at the Hawassa Artfical Stadium.
